It's the perfect base for exploring ancient landscapes, cooling off in natural swimming holes, and learning about local Jawoyn culture.

Suggested Time to Spend

Plan at least two full days in Katherine. Day one: explore Nitmiluk Gorge – take an early morning canoe trip or a boat cruise, then hike the Baruwei Lookout Loop. Day two: relax at the Hot Springs, visit the museum, and join a cultural tour. If you have a third day, drive to Edith Falls for a swim or head further south to Mataranka's thermal pools.
