This dramatic landscape of towering cliffs, tranquil waterholes, and ancient rock art offers a quintessential Northern Territory experience. Just 30km from Katherine town, it's a must-do on any Lasseter Highway itinerary, combining adventure with deep Indigenous culture.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Dedicate at least a full day to explore the main gorge system. If you're short on time, a half-day cruise and a walk to the lookout will give you a taste. For hikers and canoeists, plan for two to three days to fully immerse yourself. The dry season (May to September) offers the best conditions, with warm days and cool nights.
