Govetts Leap is one of the Blue Mountains' most breathtaking lookouts, offering a vertiginous panorama of the Grose Valley. Named after the colonial surveyor William Romaine Govett, this spot is less crowded than the famous Three Sisters but equally dramatic. The sheer sandstone cliffs plunge into a lush rainforest valley, with the Bridal Veil Falls cascading down the opposite cliff face—especially spectacular after rain.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Most visitors spend 30 minutes to 1 hour at the lookout and Pulpit Rock. If you plan to do the descent into the valley, allocate 4–6 hours for the return hike. Combine Govetts Leap with other Blackheath-area attractions for a half-day visit.
