Perched on the edge of the Jamison Valley, Echo Point Lookout offers the most famous and breathtaking view of the Three Sisters – a trio of sandstone peaks that are the emblem of the Blue Mountains. The lookout is a short, easy walk from the town of Katoomba, and on a clear day you can see the iconic rock formation jutting out over the eucalyptus-clad valley. It's a must-visit for any traveller exploring the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Most visitors spend 30 minutes to an hour at the lookout itself, taking photos and soaking in the view. If you plan to tackle the Giant Stairway or visit Scenic World, allocate at least half a day. A full day is ideal if you want to combine the lookout with a walk to Katoomba Cascades and a ride on the Scenic Railway. Arrive early (before 10am) or late afternoon to avoid the crowds and capture the best light.
