Inverell deserves a solid two days to do it justice. Spend the first day fossicking and exploring the Pioneer Village and Art Gallery. On day two, drive out to Copeton Dam or Kwiambal National Park for a half-day hike and a swim. If you’re keen on gem hunting, consider adding an extra day to visit the fossicking areas at nearby Glen Innes or Tingha.
