- Inverell Pioneer Village: A living museum showcasing over 30 historic buildings, from a blacksmith’s shop to a schoolhouse. It offers a fascinating glimpse into 19th-century rural life.
- National Trust Centre & Inverell Art Gallery: Housed in a grand 1880s building, the gallery features rotating exhibitions of local and Australian art, plus a heritage museum.
- Copeton Dam: A massive inland waterway perfect for water sports, fishing, and camping. The views from the dam wall are spectacular, especially at sunset.

Suggested Time to Spend
Inverell deserves a solid two days to do it justice. Spend the first day fossicking and exploring the Pioneer Village and Art Gallery. On day two, drive out to Copeton Dam or Kwiambal National Park for a half-day hike and a swim. If you’re keen on gem hunting, consider adding an extra day to visit the fossicking areas at nearby Glen Innes or Tingha.
