Perched on the headland at Lennox Head, Pat Morton Lookout delivers one of the most dramatic coastal panoramas on the NSW North Coast. From this elevated vantage point, you’ll watch the Pacific Ocean crash against the rocky cliffs, spot migrating whales between June and November, and take in the sweeping curve of Seven Mile Beach. The lookout is part of the Lennox Head Coastal Walk and is a favourite for sunrise photographers and local joggers alike.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Most visitors spend 30–45 minutes at the lookout itself, but if you plan to walk the full coastal trail or swim at Lake Ainsworth, allocate 2–3 hours. Sunrise is the best time for calm winds and golden light, while late afternoons offer dramatic shadows on the cliffs.
