Stretching across the treeless, limestone expanse of southern Australia, the Nullarbor Plain is a place of stark, hypnotic beauty. This vast, flat landscape—the world's largest single piece of limestone karst—offers a genuine outback experience, where the horizon seems infinite and the night sky blazes with stars. Driving the Eyre Highway across the Nullarbor is an iconic Australian road trip, punctuated by quirky roadhouses, dramatic sea cliffs, and the chance to spot southern right whales from the Bunda Cliffs.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Allow at least two to three days to drive across the Nullarbor from Ceduna to Norseman (or vice versa), covering roughly 1,200 km. This gives you time to stop at the key lookouts, explore the caves, and soak in the solitude. Many travellers break the journey at Eucla or the Nullarbor Roadhouse. If you're keen on whale-watching or caving, add an extra day.
