The Red Centre Way is the ultimate outback road trip, a 450 km loop from Alice Springs that delivers the raw, ancient heart of Australia. This is a landscape of colossal monoliths, gaping chasms, and desert oak forests, where the silence is profound and the stars blaze at night. The sealed road makes it accessible to any vehicle, but the real magic lies in stopping often, walking the gorges, and absorbing the timeless presence of Uluru and Kata Tjuta.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Allocate at least 3-4 days for the full loop. A classic itinerary: Day 1 – Alice Springs to Kings Canyon (via West MacDonnells stops), Day 2 – Kings Canyon Rim Walk then drive to Yulara (Uluru), Day 3 – Uluru sunrise, base walk, and Kata Tjuta, Day 4 – return to Alice Springs via the Stuart Highway. If you have more time, add a night at Glen Helen Resort or a side trip to Palm Valley in Finke Gorge National Park.
