Wollumbin National Park, dominated by the ancient volcanic plug of Mount Warning (Wollumbin), is a sacred site for the Bundjalung people and a haven for rainforest hiking. The summit track offers one of Australia’s most rewarding dawn experiences, while the surrounding subtropical lowlands are rich in birdlife and dramatic landscapes. This is a place where culture, geology, and wilderness converge.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Dedicate at least half a day to the park. For the summit walk, start before dawn (allow 4–5 hours return) to catch the sunrise. If you’re not climbing, a couple of hours at Lyrebird Lookout and the park’s picnic areas is enough. Combine with a morning at the nearby Tweed Valley for a full day’s adventure.
