Tweed Valley

Straddling the border between New South Wales and Queensland, the Tweed Valley is a lush, subtropical paradise defined by the meandering Tweed River, ancient volcanic peaks, and a laid-back creative energy. This is a place where hinterland rainforest meets golden beaches, and where farmers' markets, artisan studios, and farm gates invite you to slow down and taste the good life.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Give the Tweed Valley at least two to three days to do it justice. Use one day for the Mount Warning sunrise hike (allow 4–5 hours round trip) and a lazy afternoon exploring Uki and Murwillumbah. Dedicate a second day to the coast: a morning on Kingscliff Beach, followed by a river cruise or a drive through the cane fields to the Tweed River mouth. If you have a third day, delve deeper into the hinterland with a self-drive farm-gate tour or a walk in the Border Ranges National Park.
