Bucketts Way is a scenic 75-kilometre drive linking the Manning Valley with the Pacific Highway near Port Macquarie. This winding road snakes through lush dairy country, past dramatic basalt peaks known as the Bucketts, and offers a quintessential taste of rural New South Wales. Along the way, you'll discover historic villages, riverside picnic spots, and a landscape that inspired poets and painters. It's a drive best savoured slowly, with plenty of stops for photos and local produce.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Allocate at least half a day for the Bucketts Way drive, including stops. If you plan to walk the North Brother summit track (allow 2-3 hours return) or explore Wingham's museum and brush, set aside a full day. The drive can be comfortably combined with a longer itinerary along the Mid North Coast.
