Soaring 309 metres above the city streets, Sydney Tower Eye (also known as Centrepoint Tower) offers the highest vantage point in Sydney – and arguably the best. From the observation deck, the entire harbour city unfurls beneath you: the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, the Blue Mountains on the horizon, and the Pacific Ocean beyond. It’s a must-do for first-time visitors and a brilliant orientation point before diving into the city’s neighbourhoods.
Highlights & What to See
- 360-degree views from the indoor observation deck – spot the Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Bondi Beach and the Blue Mountains on a clear day.
- SKYWALK – an outdoor, glass-floor platform that lets you walk around the tower’s edge, 268 metres above street level (for thrill-seekers).
- Interactive displays at the base that tell the story of Sydney’s history and landmarks.
- 4D cinema experience – a short, immersive film that flies you over Sydney’s icons.
- Dining at Infinity – the tower’s rotating restaurant offers a meal with a view that slowly spins.
Suggested Time to Spend
Most visitors spend about 45 minutes to an hour on the observation deck, soaking in the views and snapping photos. If you add the SKYWALK experience or a meal at Infinity, budget an extra hour. It’s best to visit late afternoon so you can watch the city transition from day to night – the sunset light on the harbour is spectacular. Combine it with a stroll through Pitt Street Mall or a visit to the nearby Queen Victoria Building for a full afternoon in the city centre.
