Honeymoon Bay is a sheltered, crescent-shaped beach within the stunning Coffs Coast region, just south of Port Macquarie. Its calm, crystal-clear waters and powdery white sand make it an idyllic spot for swimming, snorkeling, and simply unwinding. The bay is fringed by lush coastal vegetation, and the nearby headlands offer panoramic views that are especially magical at sunrise or sunset.
Highlights & What to See
- Swimming & Snorkeling: The gentle, protected waters are perfect for a safe swim. Snorkelers can spot colorful fish and occasional stingrays around the rocky points.
- Coastal Walk: A short but rewarding trail leads from the car park along the headland, offering breathtaking views of the bay and the rugged coastline. Keep an eye out for migrating whales (June–November).
- Picnic & Relaxation: Shaded picnic tables and grassy areas make this a great spot for a leisurely lunch. The bay’s serene atmosphere is ideal for reading or napping under a tree.
- Photography: The combination of turquoise water, golden sand, and green headlands creates postcard-perfect scenes. Early morning or late afternoon light is best.
Suggested Time to Spend
Most visitors find that 2–3 hours is ample to enjoy the beach, take a short walk, and have a swim or snorkel. If you’re keen on relaxing for the afternoon or combining it with a picnic lunch, you could easily spend half a day here. The bay is compact, so you won’t need a full day—save that for exploring the greater Port Macquarie area.
