Ellenborough Falls

Plunging 160 metres into a fern-cloaked gorge, Ellenborough Falls is one of Australia’s tallest single-drop waterfalls. Located in the Bulga Plateau region, this natural spectacle offers a dramatic contrast to the coastal calm of nearby Lake Macquarie. The walk to the viewing platforms is short but steep, rewarding you with misty panoramas and the thunder of falling water.

Suggested Time to Spend

Most visitors spend 1–2 hours here, including the short walk and time at the lookouts. If you plan to hike the Ridge Walk or simply soak up the atmosphere, allow half a day. Combine with a stop in the historic village of Ellenborough for a coffee before heading back.
