Just north of Sydney on the Central Coast, the Australian Reptile Park is a hands-on wildlife sanctuary that brings you face-to-face with some of the country's most iconic – and misunderstood – creatures. Unlike a traditional zoo, this park focuses on reptiles, spiders, and other native animals, with a strong conservation and education ethos. The sprawling bushland setting feels natural and unforced, and the daily shows are both entertaining and informative. It's a must for families, animal lovers, and anyone keen to safely meet a koala or watch a giant saltwater crocodile being fed.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Most visitors spend around three to four hours exploring the park – enough to see all the main exhibits, attend two or three shows, and enjoy a picnic lunch (there's also a café). Arrive by 10am to catch the first show and beat the crowds. If you're a wildlife enthusiast, you could easily stretch it to half a day by lingering at the enclosures and joining a keeper talk.
