Yango National Park is a rugged wilderness escape in the Hunter Valley, offering dramatic sandstone escarpments, deep gorges, and serene pockets of subtropical rainforest. Less frequented than the region’s famous vineyards, this park rewards travellers with epic views, Aboriginal rock art, and a genuine sense of discovery. Whether you’re a keen bushwalker or a photographer chasing golden light over the valley, Yango delivers an authentic Australian bush experience.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Most visitors spend a half-day exploring the main lookout and one walking track – around 3–4 hours. If you want to tackle the longer Yango Creek loop and spend time birdwatching or sketching the rock art, set aside a full day. The park is best visited from late autumn to early spring when the weather is mild and the creek is flowing.
