Two days is ideal to soak up the town’s character and explore the nearby national park. Spend Day 1 wandering Tumut’s heritage precinct, visiting the Snowy Hydro centre, and fishing or kayaking on the river. On Day 2, drive into Kosciuszko National Park for a hike to Yarrangobilly Caves or the thermal pool. If you have extra time, add a day for a scenic drive to Blowering Dam or a longer bushwalk in the Jagungal Wilderness.
