Perisher Valley

Perisher Valley is the beating heart of Australia's largest ski resort, a sprawling alpine playground that transforms into a snow-covered wonderland each winter. Nestled in the Snowy Mountains, this purpose-built village offers direct ski-in/ski-out access to over 1,200 hectares of terrain, from gentle beginner slopes to challenging black runs and backcountry bowls. In summer, the valley reveals a different kind of beauty – wildflower-strewn meadows, clear mountain streams and walking trails that lead to panoramic views. Whether you're carving fresh powder or hiking through alpine heath, Perisher delivers an authentic high-country experience.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

A minimum of two full days is recommended to experience the main ski areas and get a feel for the valley. If you're a keen skier or boarder, extend to four days to explore all four resorts and tackle the off-piste terrain. In summer, a day trip from Jindabyne is enough for a solid walk, but overnighting allows for sunrise hikes and a more relaxed pace. During peak winter weekends, arrive early to secure parking or use the Skitube.
