Glenrock State Conservation Area

Just a short drive from Newcastle’s centre, Glenrock State Conservation Area is a wild, coastal pocket of rainforest, eucalypt forest, and dramatic sea cliffs. The area feels a world away from the city, yet its network of walking and mountain-bike trails makes it a quick escape for nature lovers. The signature experience is the Yuelarbah Track, which drops through lush gully forest to a secluded beach – perfect for a swim after a walk.

If you’re a keen mountain biker, you could easily spend a full morning riding the network. Combine with a picnic lunch at one of the grassy clearings near the car park.
