Deepwater

Deepwater is a serene hamlet cradled in the upper reaches of the Hunter Valley, where the world-class vineyards of the lower valley give way to rolling green hills, national parks and a slower, more rural rhythm. This is the Hunter Valley away from the crowds – a place for quiet exploration, local produce and genuine country hospitality.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Two to three days allows you to explore the national park on a full-day hike, spend a morning at the homestead and still have time to meander through the farm gates and nearby historic villages. If you’re combining with lower Hunter wineries, plan a longer loop of 4–5 days to do both regions justice – the drive between Deepwater and Pokolbin is only an hour, but the pace here is deliberately unhurried.
