Stretching for seven glorious kilometres along the New South Wales coast, Seven Mile Beach National Park is a pristine slice of coastal wilderness that feels a world away from the nearby Hunter Valley vineyards. This is where the bush meets the sea: a landscape of windswept dunes, coastal heath, and a shoreline that seems to go on forever. It’s a place for long walks, birdwatching, and feeling the salt spray on your face — utterly unspoiled and deeply restorative.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Half a day is enough to soak up the beach, walk a section of the coastal track, and enjoy a picnic. For a more immersive experience — including a full walk to Gerroa Headland and some beach time — plan for a full day. The park is easy to visit as a side trip from the Hunter Valley wine region (about 1.5 hours’ drive) or as a stop on a coastal road trip between Sydney and the South Coast.
