Dorrigo National Park is a lush, World Heritage-listed rainforest sanctuary in the heart of the Gondwana Rainforests. Just an hour's drive from Coffs Harbour, this park offers an immersive escape into ancient ferns, towering palms, and cascading waterfalls. The air is thick with the scent of damp earth and bird calls, making it a paradise for nature lovers and hikers.
Highlights & What to See
- The Skywalk – A cantilevered walkway suspended above the rainforest canopy, offering panoramic views of the escarpment and the coast on clear days.
- Crystal Shower Falls – A short walk leads behind this curtain waterfall, a refreshing spot perfect for photos and a cool misty break.
- Never Never Rainforest Walk – A gentle 1.4 km loop through towering red cedar and booyong trees, with interpretive signs about the forest ecology.
- Wollomombi Falls – Just outside the park, these are among the highest waterfalls in NSW, plunging 220 metres into a dramatic gorge.
- Birdwatching – Keep an eye out for the vibrant regent bowerbird, wompoo fruit-dove, and the elusive paradise riflebird.
Suggested Time to Spend
