Perched on the rolling hills of the Tidbinbilla Valley, the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex is one of only three antenna stations in NASA's Deep Space Network. It's a mesmerising window into humanity's reach for the stars, where colossal radio dishes listen to spacecraft exploring the solar system and beyond. The on-site visitor centre, with its interactive exhibits and real-time mission displays, makes the complex a must-visit for space enthusiasts and curious travellers alike.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Set aside at least 1.5 to 2 hours to fully explore the visitor centre, walk around the antenna field, and watch a short film. If you're a space buff, you could easily linger for 3 hours. The complex is open daily (except Christmas Day) from 9am to 5pm, and entry is free. The site is self-guided, so you can set your own pace.
