Blue Cow Mountain, part of the Perisher Valley resort in New South Wales' Snowy Mountains, is a premier alpine destination that offers world-class skiing and snowboarding with breathtaking views. Its high altitude (up to 2,050 metres) ensures reliable snow cover and a long season, making it a favourite among serious snow enthusiasts. The mountain is known for its wide, groomed runs and challenging terrain, but also welcomes beginners with gentle slopes and excellent ski schools. Beyond winter, the area transforms into a hiker's paradise with wildflower-strewn meadows and crisp mountain air.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Most visitors allocate a full day to explore Blue Cow Mountain's slopes, especially if connecting to Perisher. For a thorough experience – skiing multiple runs, enjoying lunch at the Blue Cow Restaurant, and taking in the views – plan for at least 6–8 hours. If you're staying in Jindabyne or Thredbo, you can easily make a day trip, but overnighting in Perisher Valley allows you to maximise time on the mountain and experience the après-ski scene.
