Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Oberon itself can be explored in a day, but to fully appreciate the national park and Jenolan Caves, plan for at least two to three nights. Spend the first day visiting the caves and Oberon Dam, then dedicate a full day to hiking in Kanangra-Boyd. A third day could be spent at Mayfield Garden or on the heritage railway. The area is ideal for a relaxed self-drive itinerary from Sydney or as part of a longer loop through the Blue Mountains.
