Rising abruptly from the flat Wimmera plains, Mount Arapiles is a sandstone monolith that draws climbers from around the globe. Its sheer cliffs and more than 3000 climbing routes make it one of Australia's premier rock-climbing destinations. But even if you don't rope up, the park offers superb bushwalking, birdwatching and panoramic views that stretch to the Grampians on a clear day. The nearby historic township of Natimuk provides a welcoming base with cafes and accommodation.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Most visitors spend a full day or two, especially if climbing. A half-day is enough for a summit hike and a walk around the base. For climbers, plan 3–4 days to explore the best routes. The park is small, so you can easily combine a morning here with an afternoon in the nearby Grampians National Park.
