Macau Peninsula
Macau Peninsula is the historic and cultural heart of this former Portuguese colony, now a Special Administrative Region of China. A dazzling fusion of East and West, its cobblestone streets, pastel-coloured colonial buildings, and ornate temples sit cheek-by-jowl with glitzy casinos and modern high-rises. This is a place where you can savour egg tarts in a 400-year-old square, watch locals practise tai chi in a Chinese garden, then try your luck at a Venetian-themed casino — all in one day.
