Lamington National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage-listed gem in the Gold Coast hinterland, is a lush subtropical rainforest paradise. With its ancient Antarctic beech trees, cascading waterfalls, and an intricate network of walking trails, it offers some of Australia's most immersive wilderness experiences. The park is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia, a living museum of evolutionary history, and is a haven for birdwatchers and hikers alike.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Plan for a full day to experience the park's highlights. Arrive early to tackle a longer walk like the Border Track (21 km one way) or choose shorter loops such as the Python Rock Lookout (1.5 km) for a half-day visit. For a deeper immersion, stay overnight at O'Reilly's or Binna Burra and spend two days exploring different sections. The park is best visited between April and October when the weather is cooler and drier.
