East Point Reserve is a sprawling coastal park on the outskirts of Darwin, offering a mix of natural bushland, beaches, and military history. It's a favorite spot for locals to unwind, with walking trails, picnic areas, and sweeping views over the Timor Sea. The reserve is also home to the Darwin Military Museum and a large population of wallabies that emerge at dusk.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Half a day is ideal: spend a couple of hours walking the trails and visiting the museum, then cool off at Lake Alexander. If you're short on time, a sunset visit (around 1–2 hours) lets you catch the wallabies and the harbour views. Combine with a morning at the nearby Mindil Beach markets for a full day out.
