Perched on a headland at the mouth of the Swan River, the Round House is the oldest remaining building in Western Australia, built in 1830. This twelve-sided stone structure was originally a prison and now offers a fascinating glimpse into Fremantle's colonial past. The short climb up to the headland rewards you with panoramic views over Bathers Beach, the Indian Ocean, and the bustling port. It's a compact but evocative stop that pairs well with a stroll along the nearby Esplanade and a visit to the Fremantle Markets.
