Liffey Falls

Plunging through ancient myrtle and sassafras rainforest, Liffey Falls is one of Tasmania's most photogenic waterfall walks. The short, family-friendly trail leads you past towering tree ferns and moss-covered boulders to a series of cascades that tumble over dolerite columns. The cool, misty air and the sound of rushing water make this a serene escape into the island's wild heart.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Most visitors spend 1–2 hours here, including the walk and time to soak in the scenery. If you're a keen photographer or want to explore the smaller side creeks, allow up to 3 hours. The short walk makes it an easy addition to a day trip from Launceston or a stopover on a drive through the central north.
