With its well-preserved 19th-century architecture, vibrant arts scene, and position as the gateway to the Great Western Tiers, this is a place where you can soak up local culture by browsing galleries and antique shops, then wander down to the Meander River for a picnic. The town is also the proud host of the annual Tasmanian Craft Fair, one of Australia's largest.
