Northern Territory

The Northern Territory is Australia's red heart and ancient soul, a land of immense horizons, iconic outback landscapes, and rich Aboriginal culture spanning over 65,000 years. From the ochre monolith of Uluru to the wetlands of Kakadu, the Territory offers raw, unfiltered adventure and deep cultural immersion. Whether you're watching the sunset over Uluru, cruising through Yellow Water Billabong, or exploring Darwin's vibrant markets, the NT will leave you spellbound.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

A minimum of 10–14 days is recommended to experience the Territory's highlights without feeling rushed. Spend 3–4 days around Uluru and Alice Springs, another 4–5 days exploring Kakadu and Litchfield from Darwin, and allow 2–3 days for Katherine and Nitmiluk. The vast distances mean self-drive itineraries are best broken up with flights between Alice Springs and Darwin. For a deeper immersion, consider a guided tour with an Aboriginal operator.
