Just 4km north of Alice Springs, the Alice Springs Telegraph Station is a beautifully preserved slice of Outback history that marks the birthplace of the town itself. Set against a backdrop of red rocky hills and ghost gums, this historic reserve was established in 1872 as a vital relay station on the Overland Telegraph Line connecting Australia to the outside world. The original stone buildings, waterhole, and walking trails make it a compelling stop for history buffs and nature lovers alike.
