Stanwell Park Beach is a stunning crescent of golden sand nestled between dramatic headlands on the Illawarra coast, just an hour's drive south of Sydney. This beach is a favourite among locals and in-the-know travellers for its excellent surf, hang-gliding scene, and laid-back village atmosphere. With the iconic Sea Cliff Bridge visible to the north and lush green hills rising behind, the setting is nothing short of spectacular.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Most visitors spend a full day here: start with a morning surf or swim, enjoy a picnic lunch on the grass, then head up to Bald Hill for afternoon hang-gliding and sunset views. If you're short on time, a couple of hours allows for a walk along the beach and a quick stop at the lookout. For a more leisurely pace, combine it with a coastal drive and a meal at one of the nearby cafés.
