Jamberoo Action Park is Australia's largest and most thrilling water theme park, set in the lush green hills of the NSW South Coast, about 20 minutes from Kiama. It's a family-owned park that has been a beloved summer destination since 1979, offering a perfect blend of adrenaline-pumping slides, lazy river floats, and scenic chairlift rides. The park's setting on a former dairy farm gives it a unique, relaxed countryside vibe, and the surrounding rolling hills and rainforest create a stunning backdrop for a day of aquatic fun.
Highlights & What to See
- The Perfect Storm – A massive, interactive water playground with a giant tipping bucket and over 100 water features, perfect for all ages.
- Funnel Web – A heart-stopping six-story funnel slide that drops you into a giant vortex; not for the faint-hearted.
- Chairlift & Toboggan Ride – Take the scenic chairlift up the hill for panoramic views, then race down on the toboggan track – a unique non-water thrill.
- Lazy River & Wave Pool – Float along the 450-metre river or catch waves in the huge wave pool; ideal for relaxing between slides.
- Kids' Cove & Toddler Zone – Dedicated shallow areas with mini slides and water sprayers, ensuring safe fun for little ones.
- BBQ & Picnic Areas – Bring your own food and enjoy free gas BBQs in shaded grassy spots; the park also has cafes for snacks.
Suggested Time to Spend
Most visitors spend a full day (6–8 hours) to experience all the major attractions without rushing. Arrive when gates open (usually 10am) to secure a good spot and hit the popular slides early. If you're short on time, half a day (4–5 hours) is enough for the highlights, but you'll miss the chance to relax on the lazy river or repeat your favourite slides. The park is best visited on a hot summer weekday to avoid peak crowds.
