Timbarra Beach

Timbarra Beach is a secluded, unpatrolled stretch of golden sand just south of Port Macquarie, offering a serene escape from the busier city beaches. Backed by low dunes and coastal bushland, it's a favourite among locals for long walks, beach fishing, and spotting migrating whales between June and November. The lack of development means you'll often have the place almost to yourself, especially on weekdays.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Half a day is ideal: spend an hour or two walking the beach and exploring the rock pools, then relax with a book or a picnic. If you're into fishing, allow an extra hour or two. Combine with a visit to nearby Lighthouse Beach or Tacking Point Lighthouse for a full morning or afternoon.
