Manning Point

Manning Point is a sleepy coastal hamlet at the mouth of the Manning River, where the river meets the sea in a swirl of sandbars and surf. It’s a place for those who crave solitude, birdlife, and the raw beauty of a dynamic estuary system. The village itself is tiny — a pub, a general store, and a handful of holiday shacks — but the surrounding landscape is immense: endless beaches, river channels, and the untrammelled wilderness of Crowdy Bay National Park.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Manning Point is a one-night stopover or a two-day escape. Most travellers come for a day trip from Port Macquarie (45 minutes south) or as a quick detour on the drive between Sydney and Coffs Harbour. If you have a campervan, the Manning Point Holiday Park is a great base for a night. Spend the first afternoon exploring the beach and river mouth, then the next morning hiking in Crowdy Bay National Park before moving on.
