Housed in a striking 19th-century former bond store, the Glass House Museum is Port Macquarie’s premier cultural attraction. Its name comes from the original glass-walled verandah used for drying wool, and today its curated exhibits tell the story of the region’s Indigenous heritage, colonial settlement, and maritime past. The museum’s friendly volunteers bring the past to life with personal stories, making it a must for history buffs and anyone wanting to understand this corner of the Mid North Coast.
