Gibraltar Range National Park is a rugged wilderness of ancient granite outcrops, towering waterfalls, and pristine temperate rainforests, located about 80 kilometres inland from Port Macquarie. Part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area, this park offers a true escape into nature, where you can hike through giant tree ferns, swim in crystal-clear pools, and soak up panoramic views from dramatic granite tors. It's a paradise for bushwalkers and nature lovers seeking solitude and raw beauty.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Dedicate a full day to explore the park's highlights – arrive early to tackle a longer hike like Gibraltar Peak, then enjoy a picnic lunch at Dandahra Creek. For a more immersive experience, camp overnight at Platypus Flat and do a second walk the following morning. If you're short on time, a half-day visit focused on the Mulligans Hut track and a swim is still rewarding.
