Mount Buller is one of Victoria’s premier alpine resorts, offering ski-in/ski-out access, a lively village, and spectacular views across the Victorian Alps. While it’s best known for winter sports, the mountain also shines in summer with hiking, mountain biking, and wildflowers.
Highlights & What to See
- Skiing & Snowboarding – Over 300 hectares of skiable terrain, with runs for beginners to experts, plus terrain parks.
- Village Square – The heart of the resort, with après-ski bars, restaurants, and a buzzing atmosphere.
- Summit Walk – A short hike from the top of the Summit Chair to the true peak (1805 m) for panoramic views.
- Mountain Biking – In summer, the downhill and cross-country trails are among Victoria’s best.
- Bogong High Plains – A short drive away, offering wildflower displays and historic cattlemen’s huts.
Suggested Time to Spend
For a ski trip, plan at least 2–3 days to make the most of the slopes. Day-trippers from Melbourne (3-hour drive) can enjoy a full day on the mountain, but overnight stays let you experience the village atmosphere. In summer, a long weekend allows for hiking and biking without feeling rushed.
