Lake Ainsworth is a rare coastal lake in northern NSW, known for its striking tea-tree-stained waters that create a natural, gin-clear pool. Sheltered by dunes and banksia scrub, it offers a serene swimming and paddling experience just a short walk from the surf beach at Lennox Head.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Allow half a day to enjoy the lake and beach. Spend an hour swimming and floating, then take the walking track (45 minutes) and visit the lookout. For surfers, add another hour or two for a session. Combine with a morning coffee at a Lennox Head café and you can easily fill a relaxed morning or afternoon.
