Toukley is a relaxed lakeside town on the Central Coast of NSW, where the calm waters of Tuggerah Lake meet the Pacific Ocean. With its sandy beaches, scenic lakefront parks, and a laid-back vibe, it's a perfect spot for swimming, fishing, and kayaking. The town's name comes from an Aboriginal word meaning 'place of fish', and its foreshore reserves are ideal for picnics and watching spectacular sunsets over the lake.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Spend a full day to enjoy the lake and beach, or make it a half-day stop combined with other Central Coast attractions. Arrive in the morning to kayak on the calm lake, have a beachside lunch, and watch the sunset from the foreshore. If you're self-driving, Toukley works well as a lunch or overnight stop between Sydney and Newcastle.
