Pebbly Beach, on the southern tip of the Bouddi Peninsula, is a secluded pocket of coastal wilderness that feels a world away from Sydney’s hustle. This protected marine reserve is famed for its resident eastern grey kangaroos, which often laze on the sand at dawn and dusk, creating an almost surreal encounter with wildlife. The beach itself is a mix of smooth pebbles and sand, backed by a pocket of coastal forest and dramatic sandstone cliffs. It’s a place where the bush meets the sea, perfect for a quiet swim, a snorkel in the clear waters, or a coastal walk with breathtaking views.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Most visitors come for a half-day trip, combining a walk on the Bouddi Coastal Walk with a swim and kangaroo spotting. If you’re camping, stay one or two nights to fully soak up the serenity. For a day trip from Sydney (about 1.5 hours drive), arrive early to secure parking – the small car park fills quickly on weekends. The coastal walk takes 3–4 hours one way, so plan your time accordingly.
