Plunging 100 metres into a lush rainforest amphitheatre, Minyon Falls is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in northern New South Wales. Located within Nightcap National Park, this powerful cascade is fed by Repentance Creek and surrounded by ancient Antarctic beech trees and subtropical vegetation. The viewing platform offers a breathtaking panorama of the falls and the verdant valley beyond, while a network of walking trails leads you deep into the heart of the Gondwana Rainforests, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Dedicate at least half a day to fully experience Minyon Falls. Arrive early to secure a parking spot and enjoy the falls in soft morning light. The Minyon Loop walk takes around 3–4 hours, while the shorter lookout and Protesters Falls walks can be done in 1–2 hours. If you're keen on a full-day adventure, combine a morning walk with a picnic lunch at one of the park's grassy clearings. The area is also popular for sunset photography, so consider staying until late afternoon.
