Booti Booti National Park is a narrow coastal gem on the NSW Central Coast, where lush rainforest meets pristine beaches and a sparkling lagoon. This compact park packs a punch with its dramatic headland views, quiet swimming spots, and excellent bushwalks. It's a perfect day-trip escape from Sydney or a refreshing stop on a coastal road trip.
Highlights & What to See
- Seven Mile Beach: A long, wild stretch of sand backed by dunes and coastal heath. It's patrolled in season and great for swimming, surfing, or a long walk.
- Boomerang Beach: A sheltered, family-friendly beach with clear water and a grassy picnic area. Ideal for a relaxed afternoon.
- Booti Hill Walking Track: A moderate 3.2 km return walk through rainforest and up to a lookout with panoramic views over the coastline and Wallis Lake.
- Wallis Lake: The park hugs the northern edge of this large, shallow lake. Kayak or paddleboard on its calm waters, or fish for flathead and bream.
- Lakeside Picnic Areas: Several spots with tables and BBQs under the trees, perfect for a lunch break with lake views.
Suggested Time to Spend
Most visitors find that half a day to a full day is ideal. Start with a morning walk on Booti Hill (allow 1–1.5 hours), then spend the rest of the time swimming at Boomerang Beach or Seven Mile Beach and enjoying a picnic by Wallis Lake. If you're keen on kayaking or surfing, plan for a full day to make the most of the water activities.
