WA Wildflower Trail

Western Australia's Wildflower Trail is a spectacular self-drive route that bursts into colour each winter and spring (June–November). Stretching from Perth north to Kalbarri and inland to the wheatbelt, this is one of the world's great floral displays, with over 12,000 species of wildflowers, many found nowhere else on Earth. The trail winds through national parks, granite outcrops, and coastal heathlands, offering a sensory overload of everlastings, orchids, grevilleas, and kangaroo paws. It's a paradise for photographers, botanists, and anyone who loves the great outdoors.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Allow at least 5–7 days to do the full trail justice, from Perth up to Kalbarri and back via the inland route. A shorter 3–4 day loop from Perth to Cervantes and the Pinnacles is perfect for a weekend escape. The best wildflower viewing is from late August to early October, but timing varies by region – check local bloom forecasts. Drive at a leisurely pace, stopping often at roadside lookouts and walking trails.
