Nestled in the rolling Sierras de Córdoba, Villa General Belgrano is Argentina's most enchanting Alpine village, where half-timbered houses, craft breweries, and the scent of strudel create a Bavarian fantasy in the heart of South America. Founded by German immigrants in the 1930s, this pint-sized town is famous for its Oktoberfest (the biggest in Argentina) and its year-round celebration of Central European culture, set against a backdrop of lush hills and clear mountain streams.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Villa General Belgrano is compact enough to explore in a day, but to fully soak up its relaxed Alpine vibe and enjoy the surrounding nature, plan for two nights. Spend the first day wandering the town, visiting the museum and breweries, and hiking Cerro de la Virgen. On day two, take a half-day trip to the nearby Los Molinos Reservoir for kayaking or a lakeside lunch, or simply linger over coffee and cake in the plaza.
