Tuncurry is a relaxed coastal town on the mid-north coast of New South Wales, known for its wide, uncrowded beaches and the scenic Wallamba River. It's the quieter sibling of Forster, just across the bridge, offering a more laid-back vibe with excellent fishing, boating, and bushwalking opportunities. The town's name comes from an Aboriginal word meaning 'plenty of fish', which still holds true today.

Highlights & What to See

Suggested Time to Spend

Most visitors spend 2–3 days in Tuncurry, allowing time to relax on the beaches, explore the river, and take a day trip to nearby national parks. If you have a week, combine Tuncurry with Forster and the surrounding areas for a longer coastal escape. A half-day is enough for a quick stop to stretch your legs on the beach or grab a coffee.
